2007 Master
Gardener College Scholarships
VMGA seeks to award scholarships to those
deserving members who through their dedicated efforts of volunteerism and VCE
goals have demonstrated exceptional leadership, leadership potential or
significant contributions in their respective Units. Additional criteria are
listed below. All VCE Master Gardeners planning to attend MG College 2007 can be
considered eligible for these scholarships. The number of $100.00 scholarships
awarded is determined by the budgeted amount and donations to the Dianne Relf
Educational Endowment Fund. No fewer than 4 scholarships will be awarded this
year!
Nomination Criteria
Units may nominate two candidates each year. Selection method is up to
individual units and no explanation of the selection method is required.

- All VCE-MGs planning to attend MG College in 2007 are eligible
- Potential nominees:

VMGA
members will receive priority

Unit
leaders, role models

Volunteers
who demonstrate future potential

Financial

Minorities

Young

Individuals with desire to continue contributing

MG's (less than 100 hours)

may vary by local Unit needs and goals

Candidates should be willing to report MG College experience to local Unit,
VMGA Newsletter and to State Coordinator
Scholarship Committee will be composed of several VMGA members,
most of whom have received the scholarship in the past. The duties of the
committee are to ensure the nominees' eligibility; select candidates and
alternates based on the guidance by the Executive Board; and present
recommendations for scholarship recipients to the Executive Board for final
approval.

- Further the VMGA goals of providing continuing education
- Increase the number of attendees at MG College
- Award Guidelines:
- Funding for the scholarships is a VMGA budget line item (Diane Relf
Education Endowment Fund)
- Only one scholarship in a lifetime
- VMGA will be free of any personal liability
- Winner bears any tax liability
Application Form
Use this form to nominate a Master Gardener volunteer for the VMGA
scholarship to the 2007 VCE Master Gardener College. All applications forms must
be submitted via the local VCE Extension Agent or Unit Coordinator. You are
requested to copy and paste the nomination information into an e-mail and
complete the form electronically. This information will be forwarded to the
other Scholarship Committee members for discussion and voting on the nominees.
